Orca Health Partners is led by Janelle Jensen, LMFT and group practice owner of Orca Counseling. Janelle’s past experience and adventures as a private practice owner and then as a group practice owner have culminated in a desire to create relationships with other therapists who desire to build a private or small group practice and understand the value of support.

Owning a business of any size can be wonderful, scary, lonely, exciting, and emotional. There are groups and companies ready to act as a service provider for you, which is the right option for some, but not everyone is ready to hand over monthly revenue when they have the skills to drive their own business experience and stick to their vision for how they want to provide mental health care in their community. We believe therapists make great business owners and with a little support along the way and and openness to learn, can find success in their first year.

By offering flexible partnership options, business owners can have autonomy to choose what is right for them. We are excited to watch you learn, grow, and be a leader in the field and community! As with all Orca services we are open-minded, resilient, curious, and authentic.

Business Foundations

We will meet regularly to build a strong foundation for your practice, creating a strong plan to make sure you have what you need to succeed. This will look like business talk - budget, finances, revenue streams and opportunity, dashboards, clinical preparedness, EHR setup, legal, staffing, etc.

We will also get creative and individualize your experience - what is your learning style, what type of boss are you, what is unique about your services, how do we get you connected to those who will help drive meaningful referrals, create lasting business relationships, and become a vital part of your community’s mental health.

What expert services do you need to help maintain your business so you can focus on what you love most? We have done the research and worked hard to create professional relationships with experts in their field - marketing, billing, accounting, legal, contracting & credentialing, and more, ready to work with our members and help you succeed.

Nine month commitment

• 2 mentoring meetings per month for 9 months

• Individualized business plan

• Business & emotional support as you start your journey as a business owner

• Preferred vendor referrals, specifically ready and excited to work with you

• Outreach and networking representation - We will be out in the field promoting and connecting referral partners to you - growing your business, while you focus on revenue producing tasks

• Access to consultation and supervision groups

• Access to social events - we are also a referral network!

Business Flex Sessions

Mentoring sessions are available for those that need a flexible, as needed option. Maybe committing to a full 9 months is not right for you but you have a list of questions, life happens, a new idea or a need pops up, or you need to process through a problem, we can support you with as needed mentoring and support to keep things running smoothly.

One of the greatest lessons I have learned is change is always happening and we must remain flexible and adapt - the only reason most things stop or fall apart is because we stopped trying.
